2025 World Jollof Day: Maggi Excites Consumers In Lagos With Jollof Party Bus Tour

Maggi, one of Nigeria’s foremost seasoning brands and a flagship from the stables of Nestlé Nigeria commemorated this year’s World Jollof Day in Lagos with a Jollof Party Bus Tour that commenced from the Yaba College of Technology (YabaTech).

The brand from one of Nigeria’s leading FMCG companies thrilled hundreds of consumers in a fun bus party that was nothing short of innovative, engaging and memorable for consumers. The unique party toured Lagos on different trips with influencers and celebrities like Jay On Air dishing out entertaining as the bus moved from the school through from Yaba to Jibowu, Maryland, Ojota and back again. Tagged ‘Pass The Jollof Maggi Bus’, Maggi, created an engaging and memorable experience for consumers in a sizzling fun party on the wheel’s experience, with tasty and appetizing Asun, Chicken, Smokey hot party Jollof in abundance for all in the bus and on ground.

The takeoff point for the bus on the campus was not left out in the fun as there fun activities that involved students, cooks, DJ, dancing competition, and different Jollof sampling. Students also engaged in different games such as Ludo, board games, Sowe games and more.

Speaking at the event, Funmi Osineye, Category Manager Culinary for Maggi, Nestlé Nigeria said Jollof is that one meal that unifies families, friends and the whole country. She maintained that there’s no party in Nigeria that Jollof is absent, no home goes without Jollof on Sundays and no restaurant or canteen one goes in Nigeria not find Jollof.

Speaking on what makes Jollof special and why Maggi is celebrating it, she noted, “What a better way for celebrating this year’s World Jollof Day as a brand. Maggi as you know is the best seasoning when you want to get that, smokey, banging aroma party Jollof. Without Maggi in your Jollof as the chief seasoning in your Jollof cooking, the taste cannot be completed.

“As a brand, we used the essence of commemorating the world Jollof Day to do something innovative, first of its kind that has never been done, which is a Jollof rice party on the wheels. Today a lot of people have experienced the Jollof party on the wheels. It’s like an owambe party on the move. A lot of young ones connected with it, especially the Gen Zs and Millennials, because it’s like attending a block party on the move and that’s the excitement Maggi brought on board this year.”

Speaking on Maggi’s importance in making delicious meals, particularly Jollof and speaking of the brand’s commitment towards engaging the consumer in the most unique way, she added, “We will continue to connect and engage with consumers in the most innovative way possible. This is letting you know that you don’t only have to go out to eat smokey hot party Jollof but can create it at home using Maggi.” She added that combining the brand’s two popular seasonings Maggi Jollof seasoning and Maggi Chicken seasoning to cook Jollof gives it that perfect party Jollof’s taste and aroma.

The World Jollof Day was first celebrated at the Jollof food festivals in Washington, DC, and Toronto in 2025. The day is commemorated every 22nd of August.
