Organisers of the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon have confirmed the support of Power Oil, Aquafina, Airtel, and other partners for the 2026 edition, highlighting their commitment to a safe and well-coordinated race experience. Hydration for all runners will be provided only at official points along the course in partnership with Aquafina to ensure participants remain safe and comfortable.

The marathon is scheduled for Saturday, February 14, 2026. The 42-kilometre race will start at 6:30am and end at 12:30pm, with a six-hour cut-off for medal eligibility. The 10km race begins at 9:30am and also finishes at 12:30pm. Only runners who complete the course within the official cut-off will receive finisher medals, while those picked up by sweeper buses or with marked bibs will not be eligible.

Prize money for the elite 42km race goes up to $50,000 for top finishers, with awards down to eighth place. Nigerian runners in the same category can win between ₦2 million and ₦50,000. For the 10km race, first-place finishers take ₦500,000 each, with prizes extending to fifth place.

Organisers warned that the marathon carries health risks for anyone not physically fit. All participants must present a medical certificate confirming they are fit to run and sign a waiver releasing the Athletics Federation of Nigeria, Nilayo Sports Management Limited, the organising committee, and sponsors from liability in case of injury or incidents during the race.

Registration is free at all Access Bank branches and at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere. International runners can register online through the official marathon website. The 42km race will start at Orca Shopping Mall on Ahmadu Bello Way, run through the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Road, and finish at Eko Atlantic City. The 10km race starts from Grace Garden Event Centre in Lekki and also ends at Eko Atlantic City.

Organisers assured participants of a smooth and well-managed race day and thanked runners for their cooperation ahead of the event.
