As part of its commitment to nurturing young marketing talent in Nigeria, Tolaram Group has rewarded students with cash prizes and an employment opportunity to the winner of the 2026 NIMN Market-Ready Marketer Competition, held during the Student Marketing Conference in Port Harcourt.

The conference, sponsored by Tolaram Group, brought together marketing students from tertiary institutions across Nigeria under the theme, “From Classroom to Marketplace.” The event formed part of the 2026 Annual Marketing Conference (AMC) and Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Nigerian Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN), themed “Community, Culture and Connection: Reimagining the New Market.”

At the climax of the competition, Adajine Josiah Omeiza, a 300-level Marketing student of the University of Port Harcourt, emerged as the overall winner and was crowned the 2026 NIMN Market-Ready Marketer.

Beyond receiving a cash prize of ₦150,000 and a Winner’s Certificate, Omeiza secured what many participants considered the most valuable reward of the competition, a direct employment opportunity with Tolaram Group. The company offered the winner fast-track recruitment and employment, providing a rare pathway from the classroom directly into the corporate world.

The gesture underscored Tolaram Group’s dedication to bridging the gap between academic learning and industry practice by creating real career opportunities for talented young Nigerians.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Student Conference Committee, Mr Oluwafemi Adeniba, said the initiative was designed to expose students to real-world marketing experiences and prepare them for the realities of today’s marketplace.

The keynote speaker, Onwudiwe Uche, Lead, Marketing Strategy & Innovation at Tolaram Group, encouraged participants to remain innovative, consumer-focused and forward-thinking as they prepare for careers in an increasingly dynamic business environment.

The competition featured both group and individual contests that tested students’ marketing knowledge, creativity and strategic thinking. Participants competed for recognition, cash prizes and the opportunity to attract the attention of leading employers.

Newman Nwachinemere Isaac, also a 300-level Marketing student of the University of Port Harcourt, emerged as the First Runner-Up and received a cash prize of ₦100,000, a Certificate of Excellence and special recognition. The Second Runner-Up position went to Nzuruike Uchechi Jennifer, a 300-level Marketing student of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, who received a cash prize of ₦50,000 and a Certificate of Excellence.

All 13 finalists were awarded Market-Ready Marketer Finalist Certificates and inducted into the NIMN Emerging Marketing Talent Pool, further enhancing their visibility to industry stakeholders.

The conference concluded with renewed calls for stronger collaboration between academia and industry, with Tolaram Group’s employment offer serving as a practical example of how corporate organisations can help develop and retain the next generation of marketing professionals.
