As part of activities marking the 2026 World Public Relations Day (WPRD), the Communicators Mentorship Hub (CMH) will host a webinar that will bring together communications professionals, corporate executives, students, academics, and aspiring practitioners on the future of strategic public relations.

Scheduled for Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. (WAT) via Zoom, the session will focus on the theme of this year’s World PR Day – The Golden Age of Strategic PR.

Godfrey Adejumoh, Head of Corporate Relations, Diageo, West and Central Africa, is the guest speaker. Drawing from his extensive experience leading corporate reputation, stakeholder engagement and strategic communications across multiple African markets, Adejumoh will explore how today’s communications landscape presents unprecedented opportunities for PR professionals to shape narratives, influence business outcomes and drive societal impact.

Speaking ahead of the event, Olumuyiwa Akande, the Communicators Mentorship Hub’s Founder, said the event provides an opportunity for communications professionals to reexamine the critical role that strategic public relations play as organisations navigate technological disruption, heightened stakeholder expectations, misinformation, and reputational risks.

He said: “At CMH, we are positioning ourselves as a platform to celebrate communications professionals and the amazing work they do, mentor the next generation of communications professionals and facilitate insightful conversations about the future of our practice.

“This webinar is designed to provide participants with practical insights into the future of public relations, the changing expectations of stakeholders, the growing influence of technology and artificial intelligence, and the strategic thinking required to remain relevant in an increasingly dynamic communications and business environment.”

The event also aligns with the global celebration of World PR Day, which recognises the value of public relations in building trust, strengthening institutions and fostering meaningful relationships between organisations and their stakeholders.
