Commenting on his victory, Ogra expressed gratitude to the immediate past President, Osamede Uwubanmwen, for his sacrifice and dedicated service to the industry.

“I would like to sincerely thank our immediate past President, Osamede Uwubanmwen, for his sacrifice, commitment and outstanding work in advancing the interests of advertisers and strengthening our industry. We are committed to building on the solid foundation that has been laid as we work together to position ADVAN for even greater impact,” he said.

The leadership transition marks a new chapter for ADVAN at a time when advertisers are navigating changing consumer behaviour, rapid digital transformation, data-driven marketing, artificial intelligence and an increasingly dynamic regulatory environment.

Widely respected for his expertise in strategic communications, brand management and stakeholder engagement, Ogra has built a distinguished career spanning both the corporate and public sectors. He currently serves as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Digital and New Media, where he has led strategic communication initiatives and strengthened government engagement across digital platforms. His extensive experience in corporate communications, reputation management and public affairs positions him as a strong advocate for advertisers and brand owners operating in Nigeria’s evolving marketplace.

Speaking through the outcome of the election, ADVAN members expressed confidence that Ogra’s leadership would further strengthen the association’s role in promoting responsible advertising, consumer-centric marketing, industry collaboration and sustainable growth across Nigeria’s marketing ecosystem.

Also elected at the AGM was Gloria Nwabuike as First Vice President of the association. An accomplished marketing and business leader, Nwabuike brings extensive experience in brand strategy, commercial management and consumer engagement. She is widely recognised for her deep understanding of the Nigerian consumer landscape and her contributions to building successful brands, qualities expected to strengthen the new executive team.

Other members elected into the ADVAN Council include Oge Maduagwu, Bolanle Osotule and Adeola Amosun, all respected professionals with significant experience in marketing, brand management, corporate strategy and business leadership. Their election reflects ADVAN’s commitment to leveraging diverse expertise to advance the interests of advertisers and reinforce the voice of brand owners in Nigeria.

The newly elected council assumes office at a time when the advertising and marketing industry is placing increasing emphasis on innovation, creativity, measurement, sustainability and stronger consumer engagement. Industry stakeholders expect the new leadership to deepen collaboration with regulators, advertising agencies, media owners and other sectoral bodies while championing initiatives that promote professionalism, ethical advertising standards and the continued growth of Nigeria’s brand economy.

As the umbrella body representing the interests of advertisers and brand owners in Nigeria, ADVAN continues to play a pivotal role in shaping policy conversations, promoting industry best practices and providing platforms that enable advertisers to contribute meaningfully to economic growth and consumer development.
