The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Lagos State Chapter, in collaboration with Addefort Nigeria, has announced the 13th edition of the Lagos Public Relations Stakeholders’ Conference (LaPRSC), scheduled to hold on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at the MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos.

With the theme, “Communication, Leadership and Innovation for Sustainable Community Transformation in Nigeria,” the conference is expected to attract communication professionals, policymakers, government officials, corporate leaders, media executives, academics, development partners, civil society organisations, youth leaders, and other stakeholders from across Nigeria.

Over the past thirteen years, the Lagos Public Relations Stakeholders’ Conference, popularly known as the “Annual August Gathering of Public Relations Solution Providers,” has become one of Nigeria’s foremost platforms for dialogue on governance, leadership, strategic communication, and national development.

This year’s conference will also witness the launch of the Leadership Dialogue Series, a new annual initiative aimed at promoting high-level conversations on leadership, governance, innovation, and strategic communication.

According to the Chairman of NIPR Lagos State Chapter, Dr. Samuel Ayetutu, the conference comes at a critical period in Nigeria’s development journey.

“Communication has become central to effective leadership, institutional credibility, stakeholder engagement, and national cohesion. This conference provides a unique opportunity for leaders across sectors to explore practical strategies for strengthening governance, restoring public confidence, and driving sustainable development through effective communication and innovation.”

Also speaking, the Lead Consultant, Addefort Nigeria and Conference Convener, Olabamiji Adeleye, noted that the conference would generate practical recommendations capable of supporting national development.

“Our objective is to convene influential voices across sectors to exchange ideas, identify emerging opportunities, and develop actionable recommendations that strengthen leadership, improve communication, and promote sustainable community transformation. The conference continues to serve as an important platform for collaboration and solution-driven dialogue.”

The conference will examine critical issues including leadership and strategic communication, digital transformation in public relations, youth leadership, media leadership and storytelling, nation branding, responsible journalism, and strategies for combating misinformation.

As is customary, proceedings of the conference will culminate in a communiqué containing recommendations that will be presented to the Federal Government and other relevant stakeholders for consideration.

The organisers have invited stakeholders from the public and private sectors, professional bodies, educational institutions, development organisations, media organisations, and civil society to participate in the conference.
