The announcement was made by Prof. Rotimi Olatunji, Chairman of the National Planning Committee, Advertising Industry Colloquium and Journal Committee of ARCON, ahead of the annual industry gathering.
Scheduled for August 6, 2026, at D’Podium Event Centre, 13B Aromire Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos, this year’s colloquium is themed “The Future of Advertising: Roles of Platforms, People and Regulations.”
The event will bring together advertisers, advertising agencies, media organisations, academics, creative professionals, technology platforms, regulators, policymakers and other stakeholders to examine the evolving advertising landscape and the regulatory, technological and human factors shaping its future.
According to ARCON, the annual colloquium provides a platform for dialogue between academia and industry aimed at advancing advertising and marketing communications scholarship, professionalism and innovation.
The Council noted that the event forms part of its ongoing efforts to promote responsible advertising, strengthen professional standards and encourage a regulatory environment that supports innovation and sustainable industry growth.
ARCON said the participation of the Minister of Information and National Orientation as Chief Host underscores the strategic importance of the advertising industry to Nigeria’s information and communications ecosystem, while reflecting the Federal Government’s commitment to responsible communication, national development and the growth of the creative economy.
As Chairman of the colloquium, Ndace is expected to provide strategic leadership to discussions, drawing on his experience in media, public communication and national information management.
The programme will feature keynote presentations, panel discussions and interactive sessions exploring the impact of emerging technologies, digital platforms, regulation and evolving consumer behaviour on the future of advertising and strategic communications in Nigeria.
ARCON described the 2026 edition as another milestone in its efforts to bridge the gap between academia and industry through stronger collaboration and knowledge exchange.
The Council has invited stakeholders across the advertising, marketing communications and media value chain, as well as members of the public, to participate in the colloquium.
