After Shining At Beauty In The Motherland, Imperio Cosmetics’ Lasgidi Launches Four Scent-led Smoothing Body Creams

Ask a group of body-care fans what they want from a cream and the answer is usually two things: skin that feels soft and moisturized, and a scent they actually like. Too often that means a cream for one and a perfume for the other. Lasgidi Smoothing Creams, from Nigerian beauty company Imperio Cosmetics, are built around the idea that one product can do both.
The smoothing creams range has four variants, each named like something from a dessert menu and each with its unique fragrance profile:
Sweet Skin Sorbet: With notes of watermelon, pear, vanilla, marshmallow, and caramel it’s fruity and sweet.
Tartelicious is citrusy and floral with lemon, orange, grapefruit, vanilla, watermelon, dahlia flowers and rose notes.
Velvet Pistachio’s warm and creamy notes include pistachio, bergamot orange, vanilla, caramel, jasmine and sandalwood.
Whipped Gelato: With lemon, orange, grapefruit, watermelon, dahlia flowers, pistachio, caramel and vanilla, it’s bright, with a creamy finish.

The creams made their public debut at Beauty in the Motherland ’26 at the Eko Hotels Convention Center, where Imperio Cosmetics, a sponsor and exhibitor, kept stand 5B10 in Hall 5 open from 9am to 9pm on all three days (5th to 7th October). The full Imperio range was on show, the brand teams were on hand, and visitors spent time with their favourite influencers including Oma Jay, Fa’izah, Temilade, Stanley and Feekunmi.
Roseline Abaraonye, Marketing Director, Imperio International Limited, said: “Beauty in the Motherland, one of Africa’s biggest beauty events, gave us the perfect platform to bring Imperio Cosmetics closer to our consumers. We showcased much-loved Imperio Cosmetics products while unveiling new additions to our portfolio including Lasgidi Smoothing Creams, Tag 3X Deodorant and the Genie Araman Perfume Collection. Consumers shopped, discovered new favourites and won exciting prizes, making it a vibrant celebration of beauty and the Imperio experience.”
Hannat A. Mogaji, Digital Account Manager, Imperio International Limited, said: “The motherland is known for its rich beauty culture and love for homegrown brands, and Beauty in the Motherland left nothing to the imagination. Imperio Cosmetics shined during the three day exhibition where customers experienced our crowd favourites, discovered our new Lasgidi Smoothing Body Creams and Oud Crush Body Mist, and enjoyed the Hair Harmony experience, featuring relaxing scalp massages, quick hairstyling and wig revamping. We look forward to bringing more exciting experiences to our customers at the Lagos Trade Fair and Beauty West Africa this November.”
Imperio also used the show to introduce its new TAG 3X Roll-On and Araman perfume to a wider offline audience. Onyemachi Samuel, Digital & Account Manager, Imperio International Limited, said: “Beauty in the Motherland felt like the perfect place for us to show up, connect, and celebrate beauty with our people. As one of Africa’s biggest beauty exhibitions, it gave us the opportunity to introduce our new TAG 3X Roll-On and Araman perfume to a wider offline audience, while giving our existing products the presence they deserve. For us, it was more than an exhibition, it was about connecting with the people who make the beauty industry what it is, right here in the Motherland.”
Hair Harmony had its own experience on the stand. Esther Ahamba, Brand & Growth Manager, Imperio International Limited, said: “The Hair Harmony experience brought professional haircare to life with a trichologist and an expert stylist on ground to analyse and meet consumers’ hair needs. Visitors had their wigs revamped using the Hair Harmony Leave-in Conditioner and Hair Mist, experiencing first-hand how the products help refresh and bring new life to their hair. The stylist also created personalized experiences through styling and restyling, hair massages and other hands-on haircare services, turning the Hair Harmony space into an environment where consumers did not just hear about the brand but where they experienced it.”

Since the exhibition ended, the conversation has moved online through “Glow with Lasgidi”, where the same creators are sharing their first impressions in their own words. Mogaji is spearheading those conversations on X and across Lasgidi’s other digital channels, and the team has put the question to everyone: when you choose a cream, what matters most (fragrance, moisturization, how it feels, or price)? And which of the four would you try first?
That second question is the point of the campaign. Fragrance is personal, and the four profiles let people pick a side. Some people will choose fruity and sweet, others citrus and floral, and others warm and creamy. However, they never have to choose between moisturized skin and smelling good.
Imperio is a Nigerian beauty and personal care company whose brands include Hair Harmony, Lasgidi, Baby Safe, Tag Deodorant, Genie Perfumes, Nurture and Fragrance.
