Over 1,000 Delegates Converge in Uyo As NPRW 2025 Kicks Off Today In Uyo

…As NPRW Promises To Be A Five-day Rollercoaster of Events
The city of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, is alive with anticipation as over 1,000 delegates from Nigeria and across Africa gather for the 2025 edition of the Nigeria Public Relations Week (NPRW), which officially begins today.
The five-day national convergence, organized by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), will focus not only on celebrating the practice of public relations but also on addressing the pressing issues affecting the profession and society at large.
As part of its commitment to robust and insightful coverage of the marketing and communications industry, Brand Communicator will be on ground in Uyo to bring you exclusive, real-time reports, interviews, and behind-the-scenes moments from NPRW 2025.
Central to NPRW 2025 is the crucial dialogue on the role of public relations in national cohesion, ethical leadership, and strategic development communication—especially at a time when misinformation, insecurity, poor governance narratives, and trust deficits continue to plague public discourse. From election-related disinformation to the communications gap between citizens and government institutions, the week offers a timely opportunity for public relations practitioners to reflect, recalibrate, and reimagine their role in nation-building.
The conference keynote will be delivered by renowned tax policy expert and development advocate, Prof. Taiwo Oyedele, who is expected to challenge practitioners to step beyond media relations and embrace PR as a transformative tool for socio-economic change. Other high-level plenary and breakout sessions will feature prominent thought leaders, scholars, and corporate executives such as Prof. Emmanuel Dandaura, Yakubu Lamai, Dr. Omoniyi Ibietan, Tolulope Olorundero, Barr. Chimdi Neliaku, Dr. Abdullahi Maiwada, Adetokunbo Modupe, and Dr. Monday Ashibogwu, among many others.
Chairman of the NPRW 2025 National Planning Committee, Mr. Yomi Badejo-Okusanya, fnipr, noted that this year’s event is more than a professional gathering. “This year’s NPRW promises to be a convergence of ideas, people, and opportunities for our profession. From the roundtables to the cultural showcases, we are celebrating the essence and future of PR in Nigeria,” he said.
