The 2026 edition of the Young Pitcher Academy is set to begin on March 9, bringing together emerging professionals and young talents from across the communications industry for an intensive programme designed to strengthen skills across four key disciplines: Creative, Media, Public Relations and Brand Strategy.

The academy, which serves as a preparatory platform for participants ahead of the Pitcher Festival, will provide a structured learning experience combining industry-led masterclasses, practical workshops and collaborative sessions aimed at preparing young professionals for the evolving demands of Africa’s creative and marketing ecosystem.

The programme will open with a week-long cross-disciplinary masterclass series from March 9 to 13, where leading industry experts will guide participants through critical areas shaping modern communication and brand building.

During this opening phase, participants will engage in sessions focused on creativity, culture, strategy, storytelling, collaboration and real-world case studies. The masterclasses are designed to expose participants to multiple perspectives across the communications value chain while encouraging cross-sector collaboration and idea exchange.

Organisers say the approach reflects the increasingly interconnected nature of the creative economy, where professionals must combine strategic thinking with creative execution and cultural understanding.

The organisers of Young Pitcher Academy have made a final registration call for its 2026 edition to aspiring professionals in the creative, media, public relations and brand communications sectors.

According to the Organisers, the registration window will close soon as preparations are underway to welcome participants into this year’s cohort, which is designed to nurture emerging talent and prepare them for one of Africa’s most respected creative competitions.

Participants will then take part in a hybrid presentation and review session on March 13, which will be held live at the Lagos Marriott Hotel, Ikeja, while groups from other cities join virtually.

The session will feature group presentations evaluated by an expert panel, alongside Mentor Pulse Moments, short appearances by senior industry leaders who will share professional insights, career advice and personal experiences aimed at inspiring the participants.

The Organizers revealed that following the opening week, the academy will host sector-specific sessions from March 16 to 20, offering deeper training tailored to different communication disciplines.

The academy programme will culminate in the Young Pitcher Competitions scheduled for May 4 to 8, where participants will showcase their ideas and talent during the Pitcher Festival.

The competition provides emerging professionals with an opportunity to present their work on a continental stage while gaining exposure to leading figures across Africa’s creative and marketing industries.

According to organisers, the academy is structured not only to sharpen professional skills but also to expand participants’ industry networks and prepare them for the high-profile creative competition environment.

With the programme about to commence, prospective participants are being encouraged to complete their registration quickly before the remaining slots for the 2026 cohort are filled.
