Reaffirming its commitment to child nutrition and consumer engagement, CWAY Group marked this year’s Children’s Day celebration with a spectacular celebration at the Johnson Jakande Tinubu (JJT) Park and Ndubuisi Kanu Park in Lagos.

Themed CWAY Funville, the event brought together hundreds of children, parents, brand ambassadors, celebrity comedians, and online competition winners for a day of games, prizes, and free refreshments, all courtesy of the beverage and food giant.

Setting the tone for the celebration, Samuel Akinrimisi, Group Marketing Head at CWAY Group, explained what the day truly represented for the company. “The children are the future leaders. We are celebrating them because we always seek to have our brands resonate with them even beyond today,” he said.

“We believe so much in sustenance, and for a business that believes in sustenance, we have to nurture children from a young age so that when they become adults, they will still have that affinity with the brand.”

Akinrimisi further stressed the company’s commitment to families. “We believe that once we have a good way of engaging families, which is the smallest unit of society, we are impacting society at large. The message to the children today is for them to know that our brands are for them; caring and nurturing them.”

He added that beyond Lagos, the brands run marketing initiatives in local communities across the country, enlightening families on the importance of nutrition in children’s development.

Through its children-focused brands, Super Kids, JellyFun, On The Go Table Water and Amor Fresh Milk and Yoghurt, CWAY Group turned both parks into vibrant hubs of activity, complete with bouncy castles, stage performances, dance competitions, and a popular word challenge where children advertised CWAY brands in Nigeria’s three major indigenous languages without using English.

Jennifer Egbuonu, Brand Manager for Nutri Yo and JellyFun at CWAY Group, described the thinking behind the event’s design. “At CWAY, we believe that the Nigerian child is very energetic and smart, and with the right balance of play and nourishment, every Nigerian kid will be able to function at maximum,” she said.

“We designed CWAY Funville to be that event where nourishment meets play. We want children to know that yes, you can play, and with the right balance of play and nourishment, you can become and remain a healthy child. We see them, we love them, and we celebrate them today and every other day.”

On his part, Ayobami Awowoyin, Business Centre Marketing Head, CWAY Group said “In our collective responsibility to protect, nurture, educate, and empower every child, because when children thrive, communities prosper and nations grow stronger. CWAY Funville Children’s Day event is our way of creating memorable experiences that encourage friendship, learning, healthy family time, creativity, and fun. Through the exciting games, dance competitions, educational activities, and entertainment lined up we hope to put smiles on faces and create memories that will last a lifetime.”

Parents were equally effusive. “I’ve been with Super Kids for years,” said Blessing Lawrence, a mother of three. “It’s Super Kids on the go, every day, every time.” Another parent, Ibironke Phillips, praised the brand’s health focus, “Thank you for being a brand that looks after your customers’ health. When I get their products, I check out for the nutritional value, and it has been amazing all the way.”

Jennifer Obina, who attended with three children, summed up the mood simply, “Everything here is free. May God bless them and continue to give them more sales.”

For CWAY brands, the day was more than a party; it was a powerful statement that behind every bottle, drink, and nutritious snack is a genuine investment in Nigeria’s children.
