The Nigeria Digital PR Summit (NDPRS) has unveiled a new institutional recognition programme to honour 50 outstanding digital communications professionals. This is following the recent opening of nominations for the third Nigeria Digital Public Relations Awards.

The Nigeria Digital PR Summit will recognise the inductees into the Digital Communications Ambassador (DICA) Class of 2026 at the Nigeria Digital PR Awards Gala, themed ‘Art of Influence’, scheduled to hold on Friday, October 16, 2026, in Lagos.

Speaking to journalists on this, the Convener of the Nigeria Digital PR Summit, Segun McMedal, said members of the Class of 2026 would be entitled to use the official designation ‘Digital Communications Ambassador, Class of 2026 (DICA 2026)’ on their executive profiles and other professional materials.

McMedal explained that while the Nigeria Digital PR Awards focus primarily on outstanding campaigns, projects and organisational achievements, DICA 2026 is designed to recognise the individuals driving the growth and evolution of digital communications across Nigeria’s agency, corporate, entrepreneurial and creator ecosystems.

“DICA 2026 is about the people behind the influence,” he said. “We are looking beyond surface-level follower numbers to recognise practitioners whose ideas, work and conduct are actively shaping the future of digital communications in Nigeria. The Class of 2026 represents our ambition to make this a meaningful, long-term professional distinction.”

According to the organisers, the Class of 2026 will comprise 50 professionals selected through a curated, criteria-based process. The recognition comes without an entry fee, public voting or open application process.

Inductees will be assessed against five core benchmarks, including quality of engagement and depth of professional networks, alongside other criteria designed to measure their contribution and influence within Nigeria’s digital communications landscape.

The initiative is expected to complement the broader Nigeria Digital PR Awards by shifting attention from campaigns and institutional achievements to the professionals whose ideas, leadership and practice are shaping the country’s rapidly evolving digital communications industry.
