Glovo Confirms Reni Onafeko As Country Managing Director, Nigeria

Glovo, a leading multi-category technology company, has officially confirmed the appointment of Reni Onafeko as Country Managing Director for Nigeria, its fastest-growing market globally. Having successfully steered the country’s operations in this role since the beginning of the year, her permanent appointment stands as a testament to Glovo’s core philosophy of empowering its high-potential internal talent.
This confirmation places Onafeko at the helm of the company’s continued expansion across major cities including Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, and Ibadan, deepening Glovo’s substantial investment of tens of billions of naira in Nigeria’s digital economy.
Onafeko brings more than 11 years of experience spanning strategy, technology and operational leadership. Since joining Glovo, she has progressed through successive leadership roles including Head of Strategy & Finance, Head of Growth and Head of Abuja, building experience across the core commercial, financial and operational areas of the business. This unique cross-functional journey and deep operational track record across key strategic business units make her uniquely equipped to lead Glovo Nigeria into its next chapter.
As Country Managing Director, Onafeko will continue to oversee a platform that has doubled its network of partner restaurants and shops, as well as the economic value added delivered to them in the past year. Glovo also offers flexible earning opportunities to over 6,000 independent riders each year, serving as a key driver in formalizing and expanding the country’s on-demand economy.
“My journey here is a reflection of what makes Glovo so unique: it is a place where you are constantly challenged, given the space to grow across different functions, and where internal talent is truly championed. My experience across strategy, finance and growth has given me a strong understanding of our business and the opportunities within the market. I look forward to working with our teams, partners and wider ecosystem to build on what we have achieved and deliver sustainable growth in the years ahead,” she said.
Before joining Glovo, Onafeko built her strategic expertise during an eight-year consulting career, including time at Boston Consulting Group in London, where she advised senior executives and investors on investment decisions, growth strategy and large-scale business transformation across multiple industries. Onafeko holds a BSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
