Maggi Introduces New Seasoning Flavours At Mix City Party In Lagos

Maggi has introduced its new Ginger & Garlic and Fish & Shrimp seasoning variants to consumers at the Maggi Mix City Party, held over the weekend at Ikeja City Mall, Lagos. It brought together chefs, food enthusiasts, mothers, young consumers, and food influencers to celebrate food, entertainment, and culinary creativity.
The event featured live cooking demonstrations by popular Nigerian chefs, food tasting, music, dance competitions and interactive games, with winners receiving prizes, including waffle makers, sandwich makers, electric kettles, frying pans and other kitchen appliances.
Speaking at the event, the Category Development Manager at Maggi, Ifeoluwa Seyi-Obembe, said the initiative was designed to enable consumers to connect with the brand and explore new flavours in an entertaining environment.
“Food is more than just what we eat. It’s what connects people, it’s what brings people together, and that’s really what the Maggi Mix City Party is all about,” she said.
Seyi-Obembe explained that the event was organised to introduce consumers to the new seasoning products while creating an avenue for them to interact, express their creativity and enjoy themselves.
She said the new products were introduced in response to changing consumer preferences and the growing demand for convenient cooking solutions that deliver good taste, rich aroma and appealing colour.
According to her, the Ginger & Garlic seasoning is suitable for marinades and dishes requiring an enhanced cooking aroma, while the Fish & Shrimp variant is designed for seafood-inspired meals, including native soups.
She added that the products were developed with familiar kitchen ingredients to help consumers achieve the desired flavours in their cooking.
“Our tagline is ‘Pick your flavour, use it your way.’ We see our consumers as the creators in their kitchen. Explore your creativity. You can mix, match, add, combine, but you are the creator,” she said.
The category development manager also assured consumers that Maggi would continue to introduce innovations that respond to their evolving culinary needs.
At the event, chefs Moses, Damilo, Gloria, Oge and Flora demonstrated the versatility of the seasoning products by preparing different dishes, including Maggi Signature Spaghetti Jollof, vegetable fried rice, special fried rice with the new Ginger & Garlic seasoning, Chinese-style rice prepared with Maggi Chicken Flavour and pottage.
Attendees were served the meals, giving them the opportunity to taste the dishes and experience the flavours of the seasonings.
The event also featured sing-along sessions with a musician, music-guessing games, dance competitions, cup games and a paint-and-sip activity. Music and drinks added to the atmosphere, as participants engaged in the various activities.
One of the participants, Aniude Ifunanyachukwu Francisca, an upcoming chef who won ₦20,000 in the paint-and-sip competition, described the experience as enjoyable and rewarding.
Francisca said she discovered the event on Facebook, where she registered to participate, adding that she had used Maggi products for a long time.
“It has been fun and interesting. I’ve been using Maggi for a very long time. It’s a very nice product. I just saw it on Facebook, and I applied and registered. I didn’t know it was going to be a lot of fun and interesting,” she said.
She added that the event enabled her to meet new people and discover new flavours, while expressing gratitude to the organisers for the opportunity.
The Maggi Mix City Party formed part of the brand’s consumer engagement efforts, combining the introduction of new seasoning products with culinary demonstrations and entertainment to encourage consumers to explore different flavours and cooking possibilities.
