ImpactReport Africa, Sustainability-Focused Journal Debuts

After years of publishing a CSR and sustainability award-winning segment in Brand Communicator, and months of publishing sustainability, impact, and environmentally related stories online, Impact Reports Africa, from the stable of Awesome Communication is set to hit the newsstands in a hardcopy format.
Speaking on the reason for floating the magazine, Joshua Ajayi, publisher of Impact Reports Africa, revealed that the magazine was birthed as a response to the gap in sustainability reporting on the African continent.
Joshua Ajayi, MD/CEO of Awesome Communications puts it more succinctly: “when we noticed a very huge lacuna in reporting the sustainability and impact space in the African market and the very little information available to stakeholders, we began to cover this space inside Brand Communicator, Africa’s all gloss top- of- the- shelf marketing and communication journal made an entry into the space.
“Needless to say, reporting brands, marketing and sustainability is an onerous responsibility that has seen Brand Communicator win prestigious awards for its reportage of sustainability efforts of organisations including being a three-time winner of the prestigious Sustainability Enterprise and Responsibility Awards (SERAS).
“However, because sustainability is a lot vaster to be placed under marketing communications, we saw the need to create a separate platform that focuses solely on the sustainability ecosystem, hence the birth of Impact Reports Africa,” he said.
Impact Report Africa, a foremost African sustainability and impact report platform therefore aims to consistently and continuously publish and broadcast factual information on how these decisions and actions of these companies or organizations and how they create economic, environmental and social impacts through their everyday activities.
Ajayi further added that each quarter at the initial stage, Impact Report Africa will be highlighting organizations’ values and governance model, and demonstrates the link between their strategy and commitment to a sustainable global economy and synthesizes and makes public the information organizations decide to communicate regarding their commitments and actions in social and environmental areas. Impact Reports Africa which is an online, print and broadcast medium will also serve as a mirror for organizations to measure, understand and communicate their economic, environmental, social and governance performance to stakeholders.
