Ex-Custome Spokesman, Joseph Attah Emerges Chairman NIPR Nasarawa

Ex-Customs Spokesman, Joseph Attah has been elected the new Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations(NIPR), Nasarawa State chapter.

The retired Comptroller of the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), and current Nasarawa State Presidential Resuscitation Committee Chairman, was elected and announced as the Chairman during the Chapter’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at the Tazu Luxury Hotel and Suites, Lafia.

He was subsequently sworn in alongside other new officials by the Registrar of the Institute, Uzoma Onyegbadue, alongside the President, Dr. Ike Neliaku.

Comptroller Joseph Attah is an NIPR Fellow, he served as a committee member in the just concluded National Spokespersons’ Awards.

Other activities held as part of the AGM was a Public Lecture, themed: “Public Relations, Governance and Democratic Dividends”.

According to the Institute’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Onawo, the public lecture aimed at strengthening the capacity and capability of public relations professionals and mobilization of support for constituted authorities in the state.

The lecture was delivered by a renowned public relations expert and academic, Dr. Tyotom Keghku, Head of the Department (Public Relations) at Benue State University, Makurdi.

According to the state chapter, the AGM and other events are critical in promoting development at the national and sub-national levels, rebuilding trust, renewing hope and enhancing good governance.

It provided a platform for an effective, sustainable and well-focused framework for enhancing good governance and provision of dividends of democracy in Nasarawa State and the nation.
