For the second time this season, Golden Penny brought fun, thought-provoking drama, and pastalicious vibes to the Big Brother Naija Season 10 house. Golden Penny, one of Nigeria’s largest food brands, offers great-tasting and nutritious products at affordable prices.

In its second brand task, Golden Penny used the spotlight of the reality show to showcase its high-quality and premium pasta. Its many offerings and diverse ways of preparation were equally showcased. This task is the 25th brand task of the season.

The Golden Penny Pasta task was designed to test not only housemates’ knowledge and strength but also their culinary skills. To start the task, the housemates were divided into four teams, each representing a Golden Penny pasta variant: Team Pasta Twist, Team Spaghettini, Team Macaroni, and Team Spaghetti.

The task was divided into three exciting games, with each stage pushing the housemates to think, strategize, and perform under pressure.

The first game, called ‘Master Your Pasta,’ gave both viewers and the housemates an opportunity to prove how well they knew their pasta.

To play the game, each team was provided with a game board. Whenever a team was called, they unwrapped a game board filled with questions about their pasta variant. Each team was asked five different questions, like what is the primary ingredient in Golden Penny Pasta, what does “al dente” mean while cooking pasta and what is the pack size for all Golden Penny Pasta variants?

They had just five minutes to deliberate, write down their answers on a flip chart, and reveal them only when prompted by Biggie. The teams gain two points for every correct answer.

The second game in the Golden Penny Pasta task was called “Twist and Turns,” which added a physical twist to the challenge. Housemates had to face a series of obstacles, such as: Skiping 25 times while counting out loud on a white marked square, crawling under colourful metallic rings, walking across a green balance beam (and retry if they fell), and searching through a sand-filled box of keys to find the one that could unlock their team’s box to unlock their pasta box.

This stage demanded stamina, focus, and determination, as only the most agile could successfully complete the challenge and secure their pasta variant. The teams were judged according to the time they finished.

The grand finale of the task was a cooking show where the housemates stepped into the kitchen to showcase their culinary creativity. Each team selected two representatives who prepared two meals: one using their chosen pasta variant and another using the remaining fifth variant.

The teams had 40 minutes to shop for ingredients simultaneously and set out to prepare delicious meals.

Judging was based on four criteria: timing, taste, teamwork, and plating, with each category carrying 5 points. This round was a blend of pressure and creativity, with housemates showcasing both their cooking talents and their ability to collaborate under time constraints.

After combining the scores across all three games, Team Spaghettini (Kola, Imisi, and Mensan) emerged as the winners of the Golden Penny Task. Their balance of knowledge, effort, and consistency earned them the top spot, securing bragging rights and rewards for Week 9.
