Tapaswee Chandele Resumes Office as Coca-Cola’s Global Chief People Officer

Tapaswee Chandele has officially assumed office as The Coca-Cola Company’s new Global Chief People Officer. The company announced her appointment on April 14, 2026, with the change taking effect May 1, 2026.

She succeeds Lisa Chang, who steps down after a distinguished seven-year tenure in the role.Chandele will report directly to CEO Henrique Braun. Chang will maintain the role of senior advisor of the company through the end of 2026 and will also join the board of The Coca-Cola Foundation.

Chandele most recently served as Senior Vice President and Executive Assistant to President and Chief Financial Officer John Murphy, a position she has held since May 2025. She had earlier served as Senior Vice President of Global Talent, Development and HR System Partnerships from 2019 to 2025, where she was responsible for the company’s worldwide talent management strategy and served as a key member of Chang’s leadership team.

A Coca-Cola veteran, Chandele joined the company in 2001 in India, going on to hold a range of human resources and talent development roles across markets including Türkiye and South Africa, before relocating to the United States in 2017. She serves on the board of Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages in India, as well as on the board of directors for Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia.

Chandele holds an MBA in human resources and industrial relations from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management in India, a Master of Science in biochemistry and clinical nutrition from Seth G.S. Medical College and King Edward Memorial Hospital, and a Bachelor of Science from Sophia College for Women.

Her appointment marks the rise of a true company insider, who has quietly shaped Coca-Cola’s global people strategy for over two decades.
