Meta Rolls Out Forum, A Reddit-Like App For Facebook Group Discussions

Meta has released Forum, a standalone app for Facebook Groups positioned like Reddit, purposed to be a space for topic-based discussions, advice sharing, and community conversations. The app is currently available on iPhone in the US, while the time line for its roll-out to other markets remains unknown.

Forum is designed to separate group discussions from the main Facebook feed. Once users sign in with their Facebook account, the app populates their feed with their existing groups and also suggests related communities based on their interests. Meta says the goal is to create a dedicated space for deeper discussions, real answers, and communities people care about.

The app’s feed focuses on conversations from Facebook Groups rather than posts from friends, Pages, or trending content. According to Meta, that setup is meant to help people see “what real people are saying, not just what’s trending”. Users can also browse new groups and post directly within communities.

One of the main features is an AI-powered Ask tab. Users can type in a question, and Forum will generate answers by pulling information from discussions across different Facebook Groups. Meta has also added an AI assistant for group administrators to help with moderation, managing groups, and keeping communities healthy

The move comes as Meta continues to push more AI-driven tools into its products. Forum expands the company’s efforts to make Facebook Groups more active and easier to explore, while also creating a separate experience built around discussion rather than the usual social feed. The quietly released app gives Facebook Groups a new home of their own — one that leans heavily on community talk, question-and-answer exchanges and AI support.
