Woof Studios Puts West Africa’s Creator Economy In Global Spotlight At Cannes Lions 2026

West Africa made a strong impression at the 73rd Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity as Woof Studios Africa strengthened the continent’s presence on the global advertising stage, showcasing the growing influence of African creators in the digital economy.
For the second consecutive year, the Creator Service Provider (CSP) secured a prominent presence at the festival, bringing an all female delegation of leading digital creators from Nigeria and Ghana to Cannes. The participation underscored the agency’s commitment to expanding opportunities for African creators while positioning the region as a strategic partner for global brands.
At the festival, Woof Studios hosted a session titled “How Africa’s Creators Are Building Culture as Infrastructure,” where the delegation argued that African creators are doing more than driving online trends. They presented the creator economy as a vital distribution and trust network that international brands can leverage to grow across the continent.

The agency also highlighted the economic significance of the sector, noting that Africa’s creator economy contributes an estimated $30 billion to the global digital economy, reinforcing the continent’s growing importance in international marketing and communications.
The delegation featured Woof Studios Africa Founder and Creative Director, Adetutu Laditan, media personality and lifestyle creator Tomike Adeoye of Nigeria, and Ghanaian sports content creator Bernice Boakye Ansah, popularly known as Berneese. Together, they shared insights on creator led marketing, audience engagement and building authentic brand partnerships.

Beyond the conference stage, the delegation participated in media engagements, including a live appearance on Channels Television’s Business Incorporated, while also holding meetings with global chief marketing officers and industry leaders to explore cross border collaboration opportunities.

Speaking after the event, Laditan said the festival’s commitment to diversity and representation has created new opportunities for African creators to be recognised as strategic business partners. She added that Woof Studios remains committed to building stronger links between African creative talent and global brands, while advancing the continent’s creator economy on the international stage.
