Biodun Adefila Announces Exit From SO&U Advertising After Two Decades

Leading advertising Amazon and current Chair of Women in Advertising (WIA), Biodun Adefila has announced her exit from SO&U after spending 23 years with the creative agency.
Biodun is set to take on new responsibilities as a lead Consultant to a global social organization and amongst other personal interests.
According to her, “working at SO&U has been a great part of my life, and all the learnings over the years have set me up for the new phase in brand and marketing consulting for independent clients on the international market”.
Biodun Adefila who until her resignation was the Chief Operating Officer and Board Member of SO&U joined the agency in the year 2000 and rose through the ranks to become the Chief Operating Officer in 2014 during which she successfully managed and led various client engagements that sustained SO&U’s rating as one of the top Agencies in Nigeria.
In recognition of her invaluable role, Biodun was appointed Board member and Director in SO&U subsidiaries – Soulcomms, Maximedia Global, Vyrus Digital, and Iris Exposures – which she birthed in collaboration with two of her colleagues at SO&U Advertising.
She held several industry-related roles in the industry as ex-officio on the board of the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN) alongside the Chair, Women in Advertising (WIA), a committee focused on nurturing female members of the industry and expanding their roles for more impact in their various organisations.
Biodun remains an advocate for human development and has facilitated several learning sessions within the advertising industry including actively supporting the UN Women Unstereotype Alliance.
It is worth mentioning that Biodun made the list of top 50 most influential Women in Marketing and Communications in Nigeria – WIMCA 2022 organized by Brand Communicator and was also named the Outstanding Advertising Personality of the Year, 2020 by Marketing Edge.
