Airtel Africa Shareholders To Receive Dividend Payments In Naira, Dollar, Pound Sterling

Airtel Africa Plc has confirmed the exchange rate that will apply to its final dividend payment for the financial year ended March 31, 2026. The company said the dividend is 4.26 U.S. cents per ordinary share and is due for payment on July 24, 2026, subject to shareholder eligibility and currency election rules.
The telecommunications and mobile money group said shareholders on the Nigerian Exchange can choose to receive their dividend in naira or U.S. dollars. Those who do not submit a currency choice by the deadline will be paid in naira by default.
Airtel Africa said the deadline for currency election submissions is July 6, 2026, through its registrar, Coronation Registrars Limited. The qualification date for the dividend is June 17, 2026, while the register close date is June 19, 2026.
For Nigerian shareholders who select payment in naira, Airtel Africa set the exchange rate at ₦1,375.25 to $1. The company said the rate was based on market rates available on May 29, 2026.
The company also said shareholders on the London Stock Exchange may elect to receive payment in U.S. dollars or British pounds. UK shareholders who do not make decide on a preferred currency for payment before the deadline will receive payment in U.S. dollars, while those choosing pound sterling will be paid at an exchange rate of £0.742115 to $1.
Airtel Africa’s dividend page confirms that the board recommended a final dividend of 4.26 cents per share for financial year 2025/26, bringing the total dividend for the year to 7.1 cents per share.
