Spotify Surpasses 777 Million Global Users, Premium Subscribers Reach 300 Million

Spotify has grown its global audience to 777 million monthly active users, including 300 million Premium subscribers, as the audio streaming giant continued to strengthen its position in the global digital entertainment market.
The company announced this milestone while releasing its second-quarter 2026 financial results, highlighting sustained user growth across both its subscription and advertising-supported services.
Operating in 184 markets worldwide, Spotify now offers listeners access to more than 100 million songs, over 7 million podcast titles, and approximately 500,000 audiobooks in select countries, reinforcing its ambition to be the world’s leading audio streaming platform.
The company, which trades on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: SPOT), published its earnings report on August 4, with executives scheduled to discuss the results and answer questions during a live investor session.
Spotify’s 300 million Premium subscribers remain the backbone of its business, generating recurring subscription revenue through its paid plans. Alongside its subscription offering, the platform continues to attract hundreds of millions of users through its free, ad-supported tier, creating a dual-revenue model that has helped fuel its global expansion.
Since its launch in 2008, Spotify has evolved into one of the world’s largest digital audio services, leveraging both paid subscriptions and advertising to reach audiences across developed and emerging markets.
While music remains at the heart of its business, Spotify has significantly expanded its content offering over the past several years. The platform now hosts millions of podcasts alongside a growing library of audiobooks available in selected markets, allowing users to access different forms of audio entertainment within a single app.
The company’s continued investment in podcasts, audiobooks and creator tools reflects its broader strategy of becoming a comprehensive destination for digital audio rather than solely a music streaming service.
Spotify’s latest growth comes amid increasing competition in the global streaming industry, where platforms are competing aggressively for user engagement and subscription revenue.
Despite the competitive landscape, the company’s expanding user base and growing Premium subscriber numbers underscore the continued demand for its streaming services as it pursues further growth across international markets.
