Period Paper, Vaseline’s Nigerian Prince, Others Win Big At First Night of Loeries 2026 Awards In Cape Town

Joe Public’s “Period Paper” for Independent Media has won the Grand Prix in Tactical Use of Print on the opening night of the 2026 Loeries in Cape Town, while Unilever’s “Vaseline & the real Nigerian Prince” was among the Gold winners.
The awards ceremony which was held at the Cape Town City Hall on yesterday covered honours for design, digital, out-of-home (OOH), print, social impact and student categories.
“Period Paper” also took a Craft Gold in Print Crafts for Art Direction and a Bronze in Social Impact Campaign.
“Vaseline & the real Nigerian Prince”, by Leo Singapore for Unilever, won Gold in Digital Use of Influencers and a Bronze in Social Impact Campaign. Publicis West Africa’s “Maggi Mami” for Nestlé took a Bronze in Digital Use of AI.
Other Gold winners included “Let It Fly” for Saudia Airlines, by Saatchi & Saatchi Middle East, in OOH Transit & Air and Service Design. It also won a Craft Gold for Art Direction and a Silver in Graphic Design. “The Philipstown WireCar Grand Prix” by Accenture Song South Africa for The Philipstown WireCar Foundation, won in Digital Experiences and Games & Gamification, plus a Craft Gold for Use of Technology.
Spotify’s “Raised…Hairs”, by Machine_, took Campaign Gold in Print Indoor Posters. Vaseline’s “Mntana Ka Gogo”, by VML SA, won Gold in OOH Outdoor Media. “The Deathmasutra” for Capital Legacy, by Halo, won Gold in Mixed-Media Campaign. Heineken Beverages’ “Bar de Change” by LePub Johannesburg won Gold in OOH Ambient. “Paid Sick Leave For Cows” for Too Good, by The Partnership PUBLICIS, took Gold in Social Impact Campaign and B2B Creativity.
“Breastmilk Money” for Herconomy by Serviceplan Germany won Gold in Digital Data Driven Campaign. In design, Dentsu Creative’s identity for CEER won Gold in Logos, and SHIFT’s identity for AmaZulu FC won Gold in Identity Programmes.
In the young talent categories, Sebastian Dupper of LePub Johannesburg won Gold for “Mid Art Director”. Student Golds went to The Animation School, the University of Johannesburg and Vega School at Emeris.
