Kamar Abass has resigned his position as the pioneer Managing Director/CEO of Ntel, Nigeria’s first 4G/Long Term Evolution-advanced network.
In a statement from Ntel through its Director, External Affairs, Osondu Nwokoro, the network made this known recently, citing personal and health reasons for Abass’ action. “Abass has stepped down from his role as CEO due to urgent personal and medical considerations,” it said.
Abass joined the Board of Directors of NatCom in 2015 as the CEO of ntel and led the company through the launch on April 8, 2016, with operations in Lagos and Abuja, and subsequently in Port Harcourt by December 2016.
The NatCom board has since started shop for a substansive replacement for Abass. However, it has named Abhulime Ehiagwina as the acting CEO of the company.
The company assured all stakeholders of its commitment to existing obligations, assuring that the leadership transition will not affect the network.
“It has also clarified that the leadership transition will be smooth and orderly with no impact on its operations,” Nwokoro said.
