Valentines is one of the most celebrated seasons and data shows that tens of billions of dollars are spent each year on Valentine’s Day. It’s no wonder, brands all over the world leverage this season opportunistically for commerce, and for brand building.

Last year, Burger King launched in Nigeria, with one of the most talked-about launches the country has ever seen, from snaking queues around the building to endless traffic on one of Lagos’ busiest streets, Nigerians were eager for the real burger experience.

With a knack for always doing things differently in a way that keeps the public buzzing, Burger King did it again this Valentine’s Day, pulling out all the creative stops.

Burger King launched the ALL FOR LOVE campaign; an inclusive campaign that celebrated everyone regardless of their relationship status. Burger King Nigeria announced exclusive Valentine’s Day deals which were available from Friday, 11th February to Monday, 14th February. The deals-All For Love, Lovers’ Bite and Self Love were targeted at groups that wanted to celebrate together, speaking to them in their own unique way.

To drive the Self Love deal, Burger King launched the #BurgerOverLove campaign targeted at the singles and heartbroken, and partnered with the BREAKFAST STORIES Twitter Space, hosted by Motunrayo Olajubu (@rayo_ola) and Oludairo Omokorede (@skeletonsxx) on Saturday 12th February 2022, where Nigerians shared their breakfast stories for a chance to win free breakfast from Burger King for a week. The Twitter Space lasted for hours, with over 1300 listeners across Nigeria and the #BreakfaststoriesxBurgerKingNGA hit the trends table, with over 11.5m impressions. The conversation also took place on Burger King Nigeria’s official Instagram account.

In addition, Burger King engaged influencer, Enioluwa Adeoluwa who offered his single followers who had been heartbroken in one way or another an opportunity to win the Self Love valentines deal from the brand. This video received over 600 comments and over 50,000 views.

This Valentine’s campaign was well thought out with every element executed in the best way to drive results. Burger King Nigeria has no intention of taking a step back, and we cannot wait to see the next campaign from this iconic brand.

We caught some of the ‘bants’ and ‘cruises’ that the #BurgerOverLove campaign served up. Below are just a few of them:
