Experienced Management Professional, Probal Bhattacharya, has pitched his tent with Tropical General Investments, TGI Group, as its Chief Marketing Officer.

TGI Group is an international investment and holding company with diversified interests and investments across Africa, Middle East and Asia.

The new development comes after Bhattacharya resigned from Coca-Cola Nigeria as the Senior Director, Nutrition, Africa Operating Unit, a role he had occupied in the last one year, nine months.

At Coca-Cola, he was responsible for growth, expansion & development of the Nutrition Beverage Category (Juice, Value Added Dairy & Plant-Based) across all 54 countries in the continent.

In his new position, Bhattacharya is tasked with leading TGI Group’s brand, product marketing and communication campaigns as well as leading critical stakeholder relations and go-to-market expansion plans.

Bhattacharya had moved to Coca-Cola from CHI Limited (Coca-Cola – TGI JV) as its Marketing Director after spending close to 10 years at the company.

CHI Limited, a Coca-Cola – TGI JV, is one of the market leaders in various Beverage categories covering Juice, Nectar, Fruit Drink, Drinking Yoghurt and other Value Added Liquid Dairy Products in Nigeria.

Earlier in his marketing career, Bhattacharya worked at Emami Limited, one of the major skin care and health care FMCG companies in India which provides natural skin care and healthcare products to its customers as the Dy General Manager – Marketing.

He was the Product Manager – Architectural Coatings at Shalimar Paints before moving to Emami Limited.

Bhattacharya holds a BE, Civil Engineering from the Jadavpur University, Jadavpur, Kolkata, West Bengal, India between 1990 and 1994.

He then proceeded to University of Calcutta, India, for an MBA in Marketing between 1994 and 1996.
