Prolific marketing and communications expert, Gideon Ayogu has been appointed as the Group Head, Marketing and Communications at one of Nigeria’s largest e-commerce companies, Konga.
The role became effective in December 2022. At Konga, he will be responsible for the gamut of inter-related activities directly impacting the brand’s market share, relevance and corporate positioning in the e-commmerce space.
He made the announcement via his LinkedIn page. Sharing the news, he wrote, “Pleased to share that I have taken up new responsibilities as Group Head, Marketing & Communications for Nigeria’s leading e-Commerce giant, Konga. This role, which I assumed fully in January 2023, is one which at the moment sees me still overseeing the Corporate Communications portfolio for the Zinox Group in addition to my other responsibilities as Executive Director, PJTK Media and Managing Editor, 1st News.

Prior to taking up this role, Gideon had excelled as Head of Corporate Communications for Konga and frontline tech conglomerate – the Zinox Group (Zinox, Technology Distributions Ltd., Task Systems Ltd. and TD Plus, etc.) – a position he held since 2015.
Before joining the Zinox Group, he worked with a pioneer brand, Airlines Services, and Logistics Plc. (now Newrest ASL) where he managed the accounts of international airlines such as Emirates Airlines, Delta Airlines, British Airways, RwandAir, AirFrance, among others.
He also boasts of prior media experience with Champion Newspapers Limited where his impressive work as an undergraduate intern got him automatic employment as a Reporter with the organization upon completion of the NYSC programme.
Gideon holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Mass Communication/Media Studies from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugu where he emerged as the best final-year student and overall best-graduating student in his department. He is a Member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, NIPR.
