Momoh, Aduloju, Adetu, Others To Headline 2024 National Advertising Conference

Ahead of the fast approaching annual National Advertising Conference (NAC) billed to hold in Nigeria’s capital city of Abuja, organisers of the conference have announced a rich line up of speakers made up of top industry experts and professionals that include the Chairman of the Channels Media Group, Dr. John Momoh; CEO of the Nigeria Economic Summit Group (NESG), Dr. Tayo Aduloju and GCEO of First Primus West Africa, Mr. Seni Adetu.

According to them, the event billed for later this year between the 13th and 15th of November and scheduled to hold at the Continental Hotel will kick off with a fireside chat with Dr. Momoh while Mr. Adetu, tackles the issue around Industry Consolidation and Dr. Aduloju will speak on the dynamic Nigerian economy.

Speaking to the media today at a parley to brief pressmen on the conference, Chairman of the Organising Committee for the NAC, Mr. Tunji Adeyinka also revealed that a highlight of the conference will be the CMO Forum, featuring Adebola Williams from Promasidor, Morolake Emokpaire from Mondelez, and Kemi Longe from Diageo . Eyitayo Olayemi, host of the podcast “Diary of a CMO,” will moderate this session.

Other plenaries on the conference would look at the myths and realities of Generative AI and other topics like Marketing Trends, Technology, Youth Culture other key sessions. For this year’s conference, organisers are looking at an outstanding total of 21 sessions. There will also be a Gala Dinner that will take place in the last day of the conference.

Theme, “Navigating the Shifts: Technology, Culture and New Business Models,” the conference reflects the pressing issues facing the advertising industry in Nigeria. According to a recent PwC study, the sector is projected to grow from N605.2 billion in 2023 to N893 billion by 2028, despite facing significant economic challenges.

“The year 2024 has brought a lot of shifts into the economy and our industry,” Adeyinka explained. “With the devaluation of the naira, the industry needs to begin to look at new growth strategies in the context of the current situation.”

Indeed, the conference comes at a time when Nigeria’s GDP grew by 2.98% in Q1 2024, up from 2.31% in Q1 2023. However, inflation has surged from 22.41% in May 2023 to 33.95% in May 2024, driven by rising costs in food, utilities, and transportation.

“This year is perhaps our most ambitious in scope and reach,” Adeyinka stated. “There are sessions for practitioners from different sectors and regions across Nigeria. In summary, the NAC this year offers topical discussions, networking opportunities, and of course, an opportunity for professionals to garner professional credit points.”
