The highly anticipated 2026 edition of the Women in Marketing Communications Conference and Awards (WIMCA) is set to hold on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the Landmark Event Centre, Lagos.

The event, which has become the largest gathering of female professionals in Nigeria’s brands and marketing communications industry, is expected to attract approximately 1,000 core industry professionals, including senior executives, marketing practitioners, brand custodians, agency leaders, entrepreneurs, academics, and emerging professionals from across Nigeria.

Themed “Grow, Give, Glow: Professional Resilience for Distinction,” this year’s conference will focus on the importance of resilience, continuous learning, mentorship and authentic leadership in building enduring careers across the marketing communications ecosystem.

The event will feature a full-day programme comprising a conference, exhibition, gala dinner and awards ceremony. The conference segment, scheduled for the morning, will feature distinguished resource persons who will lead conversations around this year’s theme. The event will culminate in the evening with a gala and awards ceremony celebrating exceptional women and organisations that have made significant contributions to the industry.

Commenting on the theme, Joshua Ajayi, Convener of WIMCA, said it reflects the realities of today’s professional landscape, where resilience has become a defining attribute of lasting success.

“The theme is predicated on the fact that lasting professional success is rarely a straight line; it is built through seasons of reinvention, quiet resilience, and the willingness to begin again in pursuit of a bigger purpose. To Grow is to embrace continuous learning and transformation, even when it means starting entirely afresh in a new field.”

Ajayi further explained that professional distinction is achieved not only through personal accomplishments but also by creating opportunities for others.

“To Give is to turn every hard-won lesson, platform and network into an opportunity to open doors for others. To Glow is to let one’s authentic, often unconventional journey shine as a mark of distinction rather than be tucked away as a footnote. This keynote will explore how professional resilience, tested across changing seasons and careers, ultimately becomes the clearest path to distinction for women in marketing, communications and every other field of endeavour.”

Now in its 12th year, WIMCA has evolved into one of the industry’s most influential platforms dedicated to advancing the professional growth, recognition and empowerment of women in marketing communications. Established in 2014, the initiative was conceived to identify the challenges limiting women’s advancement in the profession while fostering practical solutions through dialogue, mentorship and collaboration.
