X3M Ideas has donated 50 Motorola walkie-talkies to the Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) to support the operations of its Security Marshal and improve communication among personnel responsible for security in the community.
The equipment was presented to the LCDA Chairman, Honourable Moyosore Adebanjo, at the council secretariat on Monday, August 31, 2026.
The donation forms part of X3M Ideas’ 2026 corporate social responsibility initiative and marks another year of the agency’s community-focused interventions.
According to the agency, the walkie-talkies are intended to help security marshals communicate more effectively and coordinate responses to incidents across the LCDA.
Speaking on the initiative, Group Chief Executive Officer of X3M Ideas, Steve Babaeko, said the agency considers giving back to its host communities a responsibility rather than a corporate publicity exercise.
“Nobody can force a company to be responsible. You choose it,” Babaeko said.
He added that the agency’s approach to corporate social responsibility is guided by the question of where it can make a practical contribution to the communities around it.
“We are corporate citizens, and no government anywhere fixes everything by itself. So every year we ask one question. Where can we step in and make things a little better? This year the answer was security,” he said.
According to Babaeko, improving communication among security personnel can contribute to faster responses and improved safety within the community.
The donation continues a CSR programme that X3M Ideas said it has sustained for 14 years, with previous interventions largely focused on education and youth development across Lagos State.
Over the years, the agency has built and stocked a library at Ikeja Senior High School in GRA, constructed classroom blocks, renovated school facilities and provided computers to schools.
Its X3M Tech Training Programme has also provided students of Muritala Ajadi Community Grammar School with training in website development, product design and writing. Some of the top-performing students were subsequently provided with laptops and internet access.
Babaeko said the agency began its community interventions from its first year of operation and has continued the practice regardless of its business cycle.
“We started in our very first year, before there was any real profit to speak of, because this is just who we are. Fourteen years on, that has not changed,” he said.
Receiving the equipment, Chairman of Onigbongbo LCDA, Moyosore Adebanjo, thanked the agency for supporting the council’s security operations.
“These radios came at the right time, and we are grateful,” Adebanjo said.
He noted that effective communication is important to the ability of security personnel to coordinate their activities and respond to situations across the community.
“Our marshals are only as effective as their ability to communicate and respond, and fifty reliable handsets across our teams is exactly what they needed. When a company chooses to invest in the safety of a community it works in, everybody benefits,” he said.
The latest intervention adds security support to X3M Ideas’ existing CSR efforts in education and youth development, reflecting the agency’s broader approach to community engagement.
X3M Ideas said it intends to continue its CSR initiatives in the years ahead.
