Airtel Drills BBN Housemates’ Financial Intelligence In Smartcash Brand Task

For the second time in the Big Brother Naija No-Loose-Guard season, Airtel Nigeria through its innovative digital bank brand, Smartcash, tested the housemates’ financial alertness in its Pair Olympic task.

The brand which is Airtel’s expansion into Fintech, spared no stone unturned as it used the spotlight in the Big Brother reality show to showcase all of its services and offerings such as Zero cash, super bonus, cashless activities, 939 and wallets in the well-curated task, which adds to its already appealing TVC that has been running since the show began.

The innovative Payment Service Bank brand task was aimed at testing the housemates’ stamina and mental alertness, their ability to work as a team as well as their communication skills. These factors were also the criteria for winning the task.

The task which was divided into five activities, grouped the housemates into seven pairs- Team Zero Charges, team Super Bonus, team 939, team Smarto, team Cashless, team Cashbag and Team Wallet. At the end of the first phase of the game, a team was eliminated.

The first activity for the night was a tyre huddle game with 16 tyres, with some marked in red colour. Each pair was required to walk on the tyres with their legs tied together, with instructions to step on all marked tyres.

The next activity was tagged- How low can you go? This game involved going under the three poles of different heights with bars. The pairs who completed the task moved to the next game.

The third activity took place in a balloon pit, This game involved each pair searching for cards numbered 1-5 in a pit full of balloons and putting them into a hole in a box. Which was the last game for this phase. Team Cashbag had the lowest score here and was eliminated.

The next stage of the task was a quiz game, the housemates were asked questions from three boxes, labelled general knowledge, financial inclusion and navigating Smartcash.

Each pair picked one question from each box, while one person asked the three questions the other pair answered. Each correct answer earned one point, Biggie introduced another question when all housemates got the first three questions correctly. He asked them the last round of questions personally when they got the answers correct again, at the end of this round two pairs, Team Wallet and Team Smart O qualified for the last game.

The last activity was a word puzzle, the pairs were given five minutes to cross 20 words from the puzzle, and the team with the most correct words within the allotted time won the task.

At the end of the activities, Team Smart O (Kassia and Victoria) emerged winner of the Airtel Smartcash task.
