Advertising Industry Mourns Late Suleman Omone-Ogie Momoh

The Nigerian advertising industry is mourning the passing of one of its finest veterans, Suleman Omone-Ogie Momoh, who died on May 13, 2025, at the age of 52. His death has left a deep void in the hearts of many colleagues, friends, and associates, with an outpouring of grief and tributes across social media and industry platforms.

Fondly remembered for his lively personality, professional excellence, and deep commitment to the craft of advertising, Suleman Momoh carved a remarkable career path that spanned about three decades. After earning his place in the industry, he joined Prima Garnet, one of Nigeria’s foremost advertising agencies, where he worked for about six years, honing his skills and earning the respect of peers and clients alike.

In the mid-2000s, he moved on to 141 Worldwide, now known as Nitro 121, as a Creative Director where he spent the bulk of his career—close to two decades. At Nitro 121, Suleman rose through the ranks, becoming an Executive Director and a respected figure not just within the agency, but also across the broader marketing communications ecosystem. He was known for his strategic insight, his creative acumen, and his ability to lead teams with warmth and empathy.

Following the announcement of his passing, the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN) posted a tribute in his an honour, describing him as “a true advertising man… forever etched in everyone’s heart.” The post quickly became a space for emotional tributes, with industry professionals and friends sharing memories of a man many described as kind-hearted, humorous, and inspiring.

Another tribute by Anjyroc read, “Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul rest in peace.”

Olamide.adeleye.7 also added, “May his soul rest eternally in the bosom of his creator.”

Others like pinkybeckley, yomichicken, realeseoflife, and the.samadeoye echoed similar sentiments, offering prayers and words of comfort to honor his memory.

Born on August 18, 1973, Suleman Omone-Ogie Momoh left an indelible mark on the industry through his professional contributions and the many lives he touched. Known for his warmth, wit, and passion for advertising, he mentored many young professionals who have gone on to become leaders in their own right.

As the advertising community continues to grapple with the loss, one thing remains clear—his legacy of excellence, leadership, and humanity will live on in the stories told, the careers he shaped, and the standard he set for integrity and brilliance in advertising.
