Meta AI Mode Shifts Focus From Algorithmic Links To Authentic Users’ Opinions

Meta has just flipped the script entirely with a new feature called “AI Mode” that skips the usual list of search results and instead gives you a straight answer pulled from what real people are actually saying across the platform. Meta published a press release concerning this on its official website on Monday, June 15, 2026, detailing the new AI features.

The feature which is being rolled out on Facebook, represents a major shift in how the social network handles searches. Instead of typing a question and getting a page of blue links, you now get a synthesized answer generated by Meta AI, based on public conversations happening in Facebook Groups, Reels, and other public posts across Meta’s apps. The system is powered by Meta’s Muse Spark technology and is designed to surface real perspectives and experiences from actual users, not just generic web results. So if you want to know what people are saying about a new restaurant or the best budget phone in Nigeria, AI Mode will summarize the chatter for you in plain language.

Meta described the tool as a deeper integration of its AI assistant into the everyday Facebook experience, available whether you are scrolling through your Feed or searching for something specific. The company says the goal is to help users “get more done with less effort” by finding real answers from real people.

Beyond the search overhaul, Meta is also rolling out a handful of creative tools designed to make photo and video editing effortless. The camera roll sharing suggestions now come with AI-powered editing features, including collage cutout templates for moments like recent friend hangouts, and new transition effects for creating smooth video montages. With just a tap, users can turn ordinary clips into polished videos ready to share.

Perhaps the most eye-catching addition is the ability to change your clothing, hairstyle, and accessories using AI photo presets. You can virtually wear a sports team jersey by tapping the “Wear It” option in Stories, or refresh your profile picture with a new look through the “Wardrobe” feature. In the lead-up to major sporting events, this could be a fun way for fans to show support without buying a physical jersey. Meta assured users that these sharing suggestions remain opt-in only and can be turned off at any time.
