Uche Montana’s Latest Film, Second Chances, Hits 5.3 Million Views Within Three Days On YouTube

Nollywood actress and filmmaker Uche Montana has recorded another impressive milestone on YouTube as her latest movie, Second Chances, crossed 5.3 million views shortly after its release.
The movie premiered on August 15, 2026, on Montana’s official YouTube channel, Uche Montana TV. It features Montana alongside Nollywood actress Bimbo Ademoye and reality television personality and actress Bambam Olawunmi.
Research shows that Second Chances had garnered 5,339,654 views on YouTube at the time of publication, reflecting strong audience interest in the production.
The movie follows the lives of three women dealing with different personal challenges while seeking an opportunity to begin again. The story explores resilience, forgiveness, new beginnings and the courage to rebuild after difficult experiences.
Montana has continued to strengthen her position in Nollywood, not only as an actress but also as a filmmaker and content distributor. Her YouTube channel, which has more than 1.8 million subscribers, has become an important platform for releasing her productions directly to audiences.
The platform also allows Montana to monitor audience response through views and engagement, giving her valuable insight into the performance of her films.
Montana’s Journey in Nollywood
Montana began her acting career in 2015 with ‘Poison Ivy’ before gaining wider recognition for her role in the Africa Magic series ‘Hush’, which aired from 2016 to 2017.
Her performance in the series earned her the MAYA Awards Africa for Best Supporting Actress and further established her as a recognised television actress. Ever since, she has appeared in productions including ‘Banana Island Ghost’, ‘The Eve’, ‘Made in Heaven’, ‘Thin Line’ and ‘Behind the Scenes’, while also expanding her career into screenwriting and film production.
A Growing Digital Film Strategy
The success of ‘Second Chances’ follows the strong performance of Montana’s earlier productions on YouTube.
Her movie ‘Monica’, which premiered on the platform on March 7, 2026, reportedly surpassed 13 million views within two weeks, averaging close to one million views daily during its early run.
Its sequel, ‘Monica 2’, also attracted significant attention following its May 2 premiere. The film reportedly recorded about 4.4 million views within its first 15 hours, after Montana announced that it had crossed 1.3 million views just four hours after release.
The performance of Montana’s productions highlights the growing appeal of direct to audience film distribution, as Nigerian filmmakers increasingly turn to YouTube to reach viewers without relying solely on cinemas, television licensing or third party streaming platforms.
For filmmakers, the model offers greater control over distribution while creating opportunities to monetise audiences directly and build lasting value around their film catalogues.
With the continued growth of Uche Montana TV, ‘Second Chances’ adds another strong performance to Montana’s expanding digital film portfolio and further demonstrates the potential of YouTube as a major distribution channel for Nollywood productions.
