Lagos-based Public Relations firm, Chain Reactions Africa, has won the Large Consultancy category of a newly launched continental ranking of public relations firms, while placing third overall among the top five agencies assessed across Africa.

The honour came from Earned First, a global PR intelligence platform that tracks the industry across Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Africa. The results were unveiled at PRAXIS Africa, an industry gathering held during Africa PR Week in Nairobi on August 26, 2026.

Chain Reactions Africa shared the overall top-five spot with South Africa’s Retroviral, which also topped the index, alongside Dialogue Communications and Clockwork and Burson Africa. The ranking evaluated firms across five measures: business performance, creative impact and client outcomes, innovation and thought leadership, talent and culture, and industry leadership. Organisers said Chain Reactions Africa stood out particularly in business performance and creative impact.

Founded in 2010, the consultancy has built its practice around strategic advisory work, creative campaigns, technology and cultural research. Company figures show it grew revenue by 18.5 percent in 2025, expanded its workforce by 17 percent to 53 employees, and won 60 percent of new business it pitched for during the year.

Its recent projects include public engagement work for LAMATA around Nigeria’s first intra-city electric rail line, a hygiene-education campaign for NIVEA that the company says contributed to a 40 percent sales increase, and a youth-development campaign for Indomie. The firm has also developed two proprietary platforms, Ara by Prophet for artificial intelligence and cultural insight, and ÀRÁMÀNDÀ for audience research, and reports that women lead every business function, with staff satisfaction at 80 percent.

The firm’s founder and managing director, Israel Opayemi, described the recognition as a validation of the consultancy’s growth and its belief that an African-owned firm can compete with global networks while staying rooted in the continent’s realities.

Earned First’s founder, Arun Sudhaman, said the index was designed to give a fuller picture of consultancy performance, spanning business results, creativity, innovation, talent and leadership within the industry, rather than judging firms on a single yardstick.

The recognition adds to a run of accolades for Chain Reactions Africa, which has previously placed second overall at the SABRE Awards and picked up honours at the African SABRE Awards, the World Public Relations Awards and the Commonwealth Environment and CSR Awards.
